Lot: 70 Freeblown Fruit Jar, America, 1840-1860. Cylindrical, light sapphire blue, heavy outward folded mouth and metal closure with thumb screw - pontil scar, ht. with cover 7 5/8 inches; (1/8 inch flake on lower edge of mouth). Similar in form and construction to MW color plate VII, #4 A wonderful early form with thin and beautifully colored glass. Generally fine condition. Dr. Charles and Jane Aprill collection.
