Lot: 27 Pattern Molded Covered Sugar Bowl, twelve vertical ribs, probably early Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1820-1840. Bulbous bowl flaring to galleried rim with applied solid circular foot, cover with drawn ball finial and inward folded rim, cobalt blue, tooled rim - pontil scar, ht. with cover 7 3/8 inches, greatest dia. 4 inches. Similar in form and construction to PG plate 166, center A visually appealing piece of early American glassware. Fine condition. Dr. Charles and Jane Aprill collection.
