Lot: 44 Two Pressed Glass Decanters, possibly Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, 1860-1880. Cylindrical with octagonal bases, brilliant cobalt blue and medium amethyst, sheared mouths with applied neck bands - ground pontil scars, ht. 10 3/4 inches and 11 1/4 inches; (amethyst example has base edge roughness and two 1/8 inch flakes near mouth). Similar in form to American Glass 1760-1930 The Toledo Museum Of Art pg. 540 Beautiful colors. Both are fine examples. Estimate: $400 - $800 Minimum bid: $200 Price Realized: $257 |
