Lot: 178 Freeblown Nailsea Type Hat Whimsey, possibly England, 1840-1860. Tall top hat form, deep olive green with milkglass inclusions in crown, tooled flared brim - pontil scar, ht. 3 1/8 inches, brim dia. 2 7/8 inches. Similar in form to McK plate 75, #14 Purchased in Edinburgh. An extremely crude and early Nailsea hat. Fine condition. Dr. Paul S. Andreson collection.
