LOT DESCRIPTION ITEM
25 Callahan's/Old Cabin/Whiskey Figural Bottle, America. 1865-1880. Rectangular, modified tall log cabin form with cathedral arched windows and doors, yellow amber, applied sloping collared mouth - smooth base, ht. 9 inches.
This exact bottle was used for the 33 cent American glass postage stamp developed by Richard Sheaf a few years ago. This bottle has been on exhibit at the Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, New York..

26 Layfayette - Liberty Pole & Cap Historical Flask, Coventry Glass Works, Coventry, Connecticut. 1824-1825. Aquamarine, sheared mouth - pontil scar, pint.
GI-85    There are three known examples of this flask in aquamarine, one of which is damaged. Extremely rare. This example is the one with the two half dime impressions above Layfayette.

27 Early Inkwell, possibly blown three mold, New England, possibly Pitkin Glass Works, Manchester, Connecticut. 1873-1830. Generally cylindrical with 16 heavy vertical lobes forming the body, dense olive amber, disc mouth - pontil scar, ht. 1 5/8 inches, dia. 2 5/8 inches.
Unlisted, one of two known examples. Ex David Waris.

28 Globe Fruit Jar, America. 1885-1895. Squat cylindrical form, yellow amber, ground mouth with glass lid, wire and iron clamp - smooth base, half pint.
L#1123    We are told that this is the only amber example in the half pint size.

29 Fancy Cologne Bottle, Boston and Sandwich Glass Works, Sandwich, Massachusetts. 1860-1880. Ten sided corseted form, amethyst, tooled flared mouth - smooth base, ht. 4 inches, base dia. 1 3/4 inches; (mouth roughness and chipping under the flared mouth appears to have been done during manufacturing).
Extremely rare form and size.

30 Freeblown Vase, New England or New York. 1840-1860. Conical formed bowl with applied foot and tooled flared mouth, deep olive amber with profuse white flecks, tooled mouth - pontil scar, ht. 6 3/8 inches; (three white flecks have chipped away from the mother glass of olive amber. There is an interior tooling mark created during manufacture.).
Form similar to McK plate 72 #5, a Westford, Connecticut vase    Ex David Hotkowski.

36 Freeblown Bowl on Standard, probably a New York State glass house. 1830-1860. Slightly flared deep bowl on applied short blown standard and circular foot, aquamarine, tooled outward rolled rim - tubular pontil scar, ht. 6 inches, greatest bowl dia. 6 inches, base dia. 4 7/8 inches; (some minor interior wear from use).
A wonderful bowl given great character by the applied short standard and base. Fine condition. Ex Marvin Engel collection.
