LOT DESCRIPTION ITEM
1 Pair of Pattern Molded Cologne Bottles, sixteen ribs swirled to the left, probably Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1820-1840. Bulbous form with long slender neck, brilliant light amethyst, tooled flared mouths - tubular pontil scars, ht. 5 inches.
Delicate fine early pieces of rare glass. Beautiful.

2 The/ Hero Fruit Jar, America. 1865-1875. Cylindrical, yellow amber, ground mouth with tin lid and screw band - smooth base marked "Patd Nov 26, 1867", quart.
L#1242    An extremely rare jar being only one of two currently known examples in the quart size. As fine a condition as one could hope for.

3 Fancy Pictorial Flask, probably Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1820-1840. Typical Midwestern flask form with scalloped shoulder and vertically lobed base, arch and fern pattern at the mid-section, brilliant deep aquamarine, sheared mouth - pontil scar, half pint.
Unlisted    The only example currently known.

4 W.R/1752 Sealed Wine Bottle, England. circa 1752. Cylindrical mallet form, yellow olive, sheared mouth with string rim - pontil scar, ht. 7 5/8 inches, base dia. 4 1/8 inches; (flat 3/8 inch chip on the underside of the string rim.).

5 Sandwich Inkwell, Boston and Sandwich Glass Works, Sandwich, Massachusetts. 1840-1860. Dome form, colorless with tightly swirled red and white stripes, ground mouth with matching hinged pewter closure - ground pontil mark, overall ht. 2 3/4 inches, dia. 3 1/2 inches.
Similar to C#1381    Beautiful and early. Ex George Mc Connell collection.

6 Early Snuff Bottle, America. 1820-1850. Rectangular with wide beveled corners, medium plum amethyst, tooled flared mouth - pontil scar, ht. 4 1/4 inches, wdth. 2 5/8 inches, dpth. 1 3/4 inches; (some exterior high point wear on both sides, apparently from sliding the jar in and out of a shelf).
Similar form to McK plate 227 #13    A most unusual color. We have never seen another quite like it. Ex John Pastor collection.

Similar to MW plate 114 #4    Beautiful deep cobalt color.
