37 "Lafayette" - Liberty Cap (without stars)" Portrait Flask, Coventry Glass Works, Coventry, Connecticut. 1824-1825. Light olive yellow, sheared mouth - pontil scar, half pint; (exterior highpoint wear on the head and on the bust of Lafayette and the Liberty Cap).
GI-87    An extremely rare bottle with but five or six examples known. This example has particularly light, beautiful color and strong embossing.

40 "G. Washington." - Eagle Portrait Flask, early Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1820-1840. Strong greenish aquamarine, sheared mouth - pontil scar, pint.
GI-10    As fine an example as we have ever seen. Particularly strong embossing, flawless glass, great condition and a stronger color than most.

41 Early Freeblown Snuff Jar, probably New England. 1800-1830. Rectangular with wide chamfered corners, almost octagonal, forest green, irregularly sheared mouth - pontil scar, ht. 5 1/8 inches, wdth. 2 7/8 inches, dpth. 2 inches.
A great form for a snuff jar. Very early. Beautiful color and wonderful condition with the added interest of a piece of interior slag glass on one beveled corner into one of the larger main panels.

42 Pattern Molded Club Bottle, ribbed and swirled to the right, twenty four ribs, Midwest America. 1820-1840. Beehive form, light to medium blue green, heavy applied round collared mouth - iron pontil mark, ht. 8 1/2 inches, greatest dia. 4 5/8 inches; (some exterior highpoint wear and scratches especially around the cylindrical part of the body).
This size appears to be larger than the usual club bottle, a little overblown but in a beautiful color.

43 Freeblown Loop Decorated Sugar Bowl, probably Pittsburgh district, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. 1840-1860. Slightly conical bowl drawn in toward the mouth, with colorless tooled rings at the base, applied knopf stem base with circular foot, cased glass bowl milk white background and profuse rose and blue loopings on a colorless base, ht. 7 1/2 inches, greatest dia. 5 inches.
Similar in design to Lot #250 in the Robert Eldred's Auction of July 31, 1986    Handsome, early and in wonderful condition.
